He arrived from Southern Kansas as a 2 ½ year old gelding, landing in Bill Garrett’s hands, who called him Popeye. His breeder was possibly George Mevas or Meives, I'm not sure of the correct spelling. We were informed there is a possibility that the jack may have come from quality Cokley stock. Other than that little is known about the early history of this fine intelligent fella. During the 2006 Bishop Mule Days Hank met the girls from Idaho and it changed his destiny. Dubbed HHB by the famous Tennessee Mule Artist Bonnie Shields, Hank’s route turned northward. At 7 ½ years old he joined the Teamdonk boys as Jim’s number one riding donkey and the future teammate of RMS Magical Merlin. To complete our Kingma Camelot Theme Hank rules his courtyard in the majestic manor of King Arthur ….Hail to our own King Arthur…. PS If you can fill in the blanks on the George Mevas’ breeding program there are several of us who certainly would appreciate hearing from you. |
